Frequently Asked Questions

Is the point system just for country swing?

No, The point system includes both country swing and line dance

Will dancers have to audition for each level at the beginning?

No, we have selected bigger events (6) from 2025 that are pointed by CSDC to award all finalists in every division 1 point to lock them in their respective division. This ensures that those who have leveled up and made finals would keep their position.

How will the council end self placement in competitions?

The competitors will be given 9 months (from January 2026) to make finals in the division they choose to stay in. Once the competitor makes finals and receives 1 point they’re locked in to that division. After the 9 months every competitor will need to enter through the novice division.

To avoid high level dancers dancing in novice, competitors will have the ability to “petition up” to their desired level after the 9 month period is over at any CSDC sanctioned events. The competitor will have to dance in front of the event Chief Judge along with 2 other trusted judges. The judges will determine the highest level that the dancer is able to “petition up” to.
